You are proud of how much you have achieved in this lifetime. There is so much you have had to overcome at this point in your life. The pinnacle of all your efforts could be represented in a hobby or your career.

In any case you use your success as a way to look down on a dear friend or your significant other. You might not be doing so consciously nor are you doing so out of a hatred of your dear friend or significant other. You may very well be doing so as a way to reassure yourself of your independence and to make sure you remember that you have worth.

While you should be proud of how much you have achieved, you need to learn not to consciously or subconsciously use it to look down on someone else.
